So much for those rumours South Park is about to end — the controversial cartoon will stay on TV till at least 2016, through to the end its 20th season.

(Twentieth season?! Didn't South Park premiere, like, last year?)

US pay TV network Comedy Central announced that, despite reports claiming creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are bored of South Park, they'll continue to write, direct, edit and voice every episode of the series for three more seasons.

"South Park is a blast and we can't wait to make more," said the duo in a statement.

South Park's 15th season has just wrapped up in the States, and is currently airing in Australia on SBS One.
