The rumour frenzy rolls on: Simon Cowell
has reportedly offered pop megastar Beyonce
a whopping US$500 million to appear as a judge and mentor on the next US season of The X Factor
According to Media Takeout, an "extremely reliable" (but unidentified) source blabbed that Simon is desperate to get a "big name female star on the panel", and Mariah Carey —who was the subject of yesterday's X Factor rumours — just won't cut it.
"[Mariah]'s not that hot today," bitched the source. "[Simon] wants Beyonce because that would immediately give him the bounce needed to beat American Idol."
Beyonce's reported deal is worth US$100 million per year, for a possible five seasons of X Factor.
Apparently the source is the same person who revealed Jennifer Lopez was in talks to judge American Idol — which turned out to be true. So maybe Beyonce will indeed have the X factor. She already judged the Australian version of the singing content in 2011 (granted, she was only on the show for like three seconds), so it's not like she's inexperienced.
