This is the kind of thing the internet was invented for: the Photoshop geniuses at
Dogster.com have envisioned what the cast of
Downton Abbey would look like if they were played by domestic animals.
For example: benevolent aristocrat Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville) is reimagined as an English bulldog, his Cora (Elizabeth McGovern) is a sleek Collie, and their proud eldest daughter Mary (Michelle Dockery) is a poodle.
The Dogster team's best effort is Maggie Smith's deliciously bitchy dowager Violet, who's portrayed as a Persian cat — because "no dog could possibly be as haughty as her". So true!

Hugh, Elizabeth and Michelle alongside their dogpelgangers.
Amazing.
