Fans disappointed at missing boy band sensation One Direction on their arrival in New Zealand flocked to a central Auckland hotel to catch a glimpse of the group.
About 30 teenage girls were screaming, crying, singing and jumping up and down outside the Langham Hotel on Symonds Street on Thursday evening.
Fans rushed toward a black van as it drove into the hotel but were quickly ushered away by security.
As a curtain from a hotel window opened, revealing a young man, the girls screamed before breaking into song, including the band's hit What Makes You Beautiful.
A small group of diehard fans who waited at Auckland Airport for the group to arrive on Thursday afternoon did not get to see the band.
The group has flown in from Australia and far fewer fans have turned out to see them so far in New Zealand.
The band - made up of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson - created hysteria in Australia.
The band is performing in Auckland and Wellington and will be in the country for six days.
