Comedian Madeleine Sami is reported to have had her comedy series Super City picked up by ABC Studios in the US.
The television show, which aired on TV3 last year, was created by Sami and directed by Taika Waititi.
In the show, which is set in Auckland, Sami plays five different characters, including an ageing cheerleader, an immigrant taxi driver, a gym instructor, an arts patron and a homeless girl.
Hollywood entertainment website Deadline reports Sami will write and star in the ABC adaptation. Waititi is reported to be directing the series.
Sami's performance in the series won her the gong for the best performance by an actress at the Aotearoa Film and Television Awards in 2011.
