They have spent the past year at each others' side and now Gotye and Kimbra will face off for a major Australian music award.
After duetting on Gotye's smash hit 'Somebody That I Used To Know' and touring Europe and the US together, the pop pair will contend the APRA Song Of The Year.
Matt Corby, Lanie Lane and The Beards are also in the running for the top prize at the annual celebration of Australian songwriters.
A full list of nominations of the APRA Music Award nominations was announced on Wednesday.
Kimbra has also been listed in the Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year in a list that includes rapper Adrift and folk favourites Boy & Bear.
Gotye is in the running for the Most Played Australian Work alongside dance acts The Pelletize and Marvin Priest and rockers Jebediah and Birds Of Tokyo.
Husband and wife songwriters Shane Nicholson and Kasey Chambers go head to head in the Country Work of the Year alongside another all-singing couple O'Shea.
Rising bluegrass star Lanie Lane leads the nominations with four nods, including entries in the Blues & Roots Work of the Year.
Missy Higgins and Christopher Battens will host the APRA Music Awards ceremony at Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre on Monday, May 28.
