US TV show host Anderson Cooper was left baffled when comedian Aziz Ansari sent a look-alike to be interviewed in his stead.
In footage from the show, aired on Wednesday local time, Cooper appears lost for words when a man who looks remarkably like Ansari turns up on stage.
Cooper stammers as he starts the interview, reaching for his glasses as he asks his first question.
The doppelganger answers as if he was Ansari, but Cooper catches on before too long.
"Who the hell are you?" Cooper eventually asks.
The look-alike insists he really is the Parks and Recreation star before the actual comedian rushes onto stage to reveal the ploy.
"I was running a little bit late, so I had my look-alike do the beginning of the interview," Ansari said.
"I hope he didn't say anything racist while I was gone."
At the end of the show, Ansari provided another surprise, bringing on an Anderson Cooper look-alike.
