X Factor has aired in the States, but rumours are already emerging that the troubled singer is losing her cool.
A report by US Weekly claims that Britney is "coming undone" as the pressure of starring on the hit TV show becomes too much.
"Doing X Factor may lead her back into meltdown territory," a source tells the mag. "She gets extremely nervous and anxious. She's hard on herself and not very confident."
"She really is starting to seem loopy and not right," admits the source. "She is so happy one minute and sad and crying the next."
US Weekly reports that Britney turned up to a recent party in LA wearing no shoes. According to witnesses she ignored other guests and muttered obscenities to herself before sidling up to the food table and saying to herself, "F--- it, I'm eating whatever I want. I don't care."
The magazine's source says, "She has a very simple life that doesn't require her to go out very often."
Just the other day, Britney bit her nails until they bled during a press conference for the show. Friends are concerned that being pushed into the public eye because of The X Factor could be too much for Britney to handle.
