Television star Paul Holmes is in Auckland City Hospital with suspected heart problems.
The TVNZ Q+A host and radio broadcaster was flown to the hospital from Hawke's Bay earlier this week, Fairfax Media reported.
Auckland District Health Board spokesman Mark Fenwick Mr Holmes was in a ''stable condition''.
He would not comment further but hoped more information about Holmes' condition would be available today.
Holmes, a reformed smoker, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1999 and recently had surgery to tidy up the decade old operation but it is not yet known if his current condition is related.
