Jerry Seinfeld offered $100 million for one more Seinfeld season

Jerry Seinfeld was offered over $100 million to do one more season of Seinfeld
You thought it ran too long? Seinfeld star Jerry Seinfeld was reportedly offered over US $100 million (AU $103 million) to do one more season of the iconic comedy show in the late nineties.

NBC was hoping to continue the series after a nine-season run during which Seinfeld was hailed as one of the greatest situation comedies of all time. Another season of the "show about nothing" was on the table and studio execs were offering Jerry an extraordinary pay cheque to stay on.

"We offered him $5 million an episode. We didn't mess around," former NBC executive Warren Littlefield told FOXnews.com.

"What we put on the table was unheard of. We went in there with a staggering sum and there was tremendous confidence that no one could walk away from it."

It seems though, Jerry could. At $5 million an episode, the star would have pocketed a whopping $100 million for the season, but he turned it down so he could focus on his home life.

"He came to me and said, 'I don't have a life, I'm not married, I don't have kids.' We gave it everything we had, he was tempted, but in the end it was a quality of life decision," said Warren.

Would you sacrifice your family life for a year to earn $100 million?
