The iconic horror movie series Scream
is being adapted for TV.
The horror franchise will see a revamp after reports by TVLine.com that former MTV executives Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley are developing a weekly show, in the same vein as other film-to-TV adaptions such as Teen Wolf.
A writer for the show has not been found and it is still unclear if Scream creators Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven will be involved in the project.
The original film reshaped the genre with its satire of horror cliches and an all-star cast, including Drew Barrymore, Courteney Cox and David Arquette.
Since the first film in 1996, there have been three sequels. The most recent, Scream 4, was released last year.
