Country music star Keith Urban will kick off his 2013 world tour on Australian soil in January.
Keith Urban: The Story So Far tour will begin over the Australia Day long weekend in Brisbane, Chugg Entertainment and Nine Live announced Sunday.
The New Zealand-born Grammy and ARIA winner will stage two shows at Brisbane's Entertainment Centre on January 25 and 26, before heading to Sydney and then Melbourne.
"Being such a Queenslander at heart I'm stoked we can start the Australian tour in Brisbane, I reckon its gonna go off. Can't wait to tour again," says Urban, who is married to actress Nicole Kidman.
Urban's electrifying concerts have played to sold-out venues across the world, from Australia to Germany, England, Canada and the United States.
His Get Closer 2011 World Tour solidified him as one of the music industry's best live performers, while yielding $US15.7 million.
It's been a big year for Urban so far. He's achieved a number one selling album on the ARIA Albums Chart with The Story So Far. He's also been working as a coach on the Nine Network's hit show The Voice, while enjoying his third consecutive number one single on the US music charts with You Gonna Fly from his recent Get Closer album.
The success of the Get Closer world tour also helped Urban make the list of Music's Top 40 Money Makers in the US. Urban sits at number 27 on the annual Billboard list, pocketing $US6.6 million ($A6.27 million) in 2011, ahead of teen sensation Justin Beiber, rock band the Foo Fighters and R&B star Usher.
