The title track of TV3 series The GC has gone to number one on iTunes NZ.

Vibrations, performed and co-written by The GC star Jade Louise, and featuring rapper Savage, took the number one spot after the final episode of the popular series, which screened on Wednesday night, showed Jade Louise recording the track.

One of the most talked about local series in years, The GC was an eight-part series that followed the lives of a group young Maori on the Gold Coast.

The GC was a solid performer for TV3, with each episode watched by an average audience of 333,400 (all 5+). In TV3's target demographic of 25-54 year olds it averaged 191,400 viewers across the series.

The show also attracted a strong online audience. It set a new ondemand record for a TV3 programme launch with 147,072 views of the first episode, and as at 21 June, had averaged 49, 747 views per episode ondemand.

The GC attracted a strong Maori viewership, with an average of 92,600 tuning each week (Maori 5+ demographic), and was the TV3’s number one show among Maori viewers for the duration of the series.

I loved the G.C. Although the first Episode was a blunder. Vibrations is mean maori!! The beat is Phat and with Savage in the mix just made this waiata a whole lot hotter!! I wish all the G.C Stars all the best!! And I cant wait to see Rosie's and Jamie Ridges fight. Awesome to see some young Maori faces make it in the big GC
What aload of .... that programe was,i agree made us look like a bunch of tossiers over here, had nothing to do with them being maori's just another way to make NZ'ers look backwards, nice song, and even though i didn't watch all the shows i do hope the guy with the gym makes it
When I watched the first episode of the GC I did'nt think much of it, but as the series went on I found I actually enjoyed it. Good on them I say, they all look amazing, doing what they love and best of all they still acknowledge where they came from. Julie Christie you're a gifted producer and Tame you rock!
I enjoyed watching the GC, very down to earth talented young ppl with their dramas doing their thing, making a better life 4themselves.
I loved the show. At first I thought 'omigosh, you're kidding!" But they grow on you and they are just typical young adults with normal problems like everyone else. What I love is their positive spin on themselves, their relationships and their futures...I cannot believe the 'tall poppy syndrome ' we have here in NZ. Noone says 'boo!' about Jersey Shore or Jeremy Kyle or some of the shows which feed on negativity and stereotypes. Bring on some more GC!! By the way - love Jade's song. All the best to all of them!
I loved the song and loved the programme
Hey No more GC, a pity you gave up so soon, it actually got a whole lot better. Like any new show it suffered some teething problems - I didn't like the first or second episodes either - but hey, I tuned in for the last 3 episodes and it was a lot more down to earth. Vibrations is great by the way - great combination of talent.
What the hell gives you the right to say it made "maori" look like a bunch of "no brain hicks" aye? If you actually watch it, they respect where there from, and just because you see the dramas and that ***, their just like a lot of other young maori people so stop judging them you clown. Just looking like a hater.
Nice tunes. Gee I hear lots of good things from people about the series. The negative stuff oh well can't please everyone. If you don't like it turn the channel ...oh yeah its finished now ha ha ha. But the theme song is nice and a catchy tune. Should have played on Maori TV though because mainstream viewers generaly will trash any Maori programmes regardless of what it is. Sorry thats what I think anyway.
i'll be the koroua advocate for the gc and our tamariki kai kora. tumeke to waiata jade! kei te roanga te mahi pai! aroha tinonui koutou katoa.
