A whole new generation of children will find out how to get to Sesame Street with a new movie adaptation of the much-loved kids' TV show in the works.
That's right: Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Oscar The Grouch, Grover and the cutest closeted couple on TV, Bert and Ernie, are coming back to the big screen, 13 years since their second film outing, The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland.
Jim Henson's puppet and live-action creations made their TV debut in 1969, making Sesame Street one of the longest-running kids' shows of all time.
Long-time series writer Joey Mazzarino is on board the 20th Century Fox film to make sure the legacy isn't ruined, and original production company Sesame Workshop is likely to be involved in a producing capacity.
No doubt the huge success of the recent Muppets movie had something to do with the Sesame Street film revival.
