Lachlan is the latest Murdoch to have his say on Scientology.
The chairman of Network Ten has denied a report that he was close to becoming a member of the controversial religion.
"I can confirm, on the record, that I have never considered or close to considered becoming a Scientologist in any way or at any time," Lachlan Murdoch says in a statement published by The Telegraph in Britain.
Murdoch's comments were in reaction to a story on The Daily Beast, an American news reporting and opinion website, that said he had been courted by high-profile Scientologist Tom Cruise in 1999.
Cruise was living in Australia at the time with his then-wife Nicole Kidman.
"The premise of the story is entirely wrong," Murdoch states.
"I probably come close to sharing my father's views about the religion but I resist tweeting them."
Earlier this week, News Corp chief executive Rupert Murdoch slammed Scientology following the news of Cruise and Katie Holmes' divorce.
"Scientology back in news. Very weird cult, but big, big money involved with Tom Cruise either number two or three in hiearchy (sic)," the media baron told his more than 260,000 Twitter followers.
"Watch Katie Holmes and Scientology story develop. Something creepy, maybe even evil, about these people," he added.
