Russell Brand has spoke candidly about his failed marriage to international pop star Katy Perry.
The pair's divorce was finalised a few days ago, and it seems that Brand has put the doomed relationship behind them.
"[Before] we got married, I just thought, ‘I’ve got to marry her, I love her so much'," Brand told Howard Stern on his US radio show yesterday.
"And then we got married and I thought, 'OK, this isn't really working out'."
Despite the acrimonious split, Brand insisted that the pair were still on good terms.
"We did work it out, she's happy, I'm happy," he added.
Brand also explained why he did not try to claim half of Katy Perry’s considerable wealth following their break-up.
"I've got a good job. I'm not into taking money from women," the comedian turned actor said.
