The rapper formerly known as Snoop Dogg
is keen to judge the next series of American Idol
It's the second big announcement for the musician this week, coming just days after he revealed he'll be using the name Snoop Lion for an upcoming reggae album.
Snoop said he'd happily lend his name to the Idol judging panel after learning Mariah Carey signed an $18 million contract to appear on the show, according to TMZ.
"I'll do American Idol," Snoop (insert preferred last name) said, before ordering his manager to "get on it!"
Snoop's decision to change his name came after a life-changing trip he took to Jamaica, where a high priest reportedly told him, "No more [Dogg]. You are the light; you are the lion."
The marijuana-smoking musician revealed rap doesn't challenge him anymore, saying he wants to make music that his "kids and grandparents can listen to."
Legendary soul singer Aretha Franklin has also put her hand up for the Idol judging gig.
Elsewhere in reality TV town, Khloe Kardashian is campaigning to host The X-Factor.
"I'm a big fan of [the show]," she told reporters at the launch for her new cocktail recipe (booty on the rocks?) on Thursday.
"I've always wanted to do hosting or talk show hosting, so it's definitely something that I would love to do and would be honoured to do."
And Khloe's not even afraid of resident X-Factor baddie, Simon Cowell.
"I love Simon," she said, "I think he's amazing. I love personalities like that because I'm someone who is very straightforward and I tell it like it is."
