Australia's queen of pop Kylie Minogue wants everyone to embrace as they welcome in 2013.
Minogue, who is the Creative Ambassador for the City of Sydney's 2012 New Year's Eve spectacular, has announced that Embrace will be the theme of the world-famous celebrations around Sydney Harbour.
A theme close to her heart, Minogue said "embrace is all about acceptance, tolerance, fun and, above all, love".
"In a city of great diversity, we come together at New Year's Eve to embrace the future and celebrate all that we are and the potential that tomorrow holds," Minogue said in a statement on Wednesday.
"It's also about that magical moment at midnight, when we throw our arms around the people we love and express our happiness."
Not only does Minogue want revellers to hug during the fireworks, she wants them to embrace new ideas, change and opportunities.
Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore said December 31 will be a night to remember, with more than one million people around Sydney Harbour and over one billion around the world watching the spectacular show.
