Hollywood gossip heavyweight Perez Hilton might be the ultimate source of entertainment news but his Kiwi fans will be putting him straight on one fact he’s got wrong.
He referred to Kiwi actor Martin Henderson, who is reportedly dating movie star Demi Moore, as “glistening, Australian man candy” in a story published today on his celebrity blog perezhilton.com.
No one is disputing Henderson is easy on the eye, but the former Shortland Street star was born in Auckland, making him a New Zealander.
He attended Birkenhead Primary and Westlake Boys High School, launching his acting career in Strangers, a local television production.
Henderson played "Stuart Neilson" in Shortland Street from 1992 to 1995, then appeared in a number of Australian films and television productions, including Echo Point and Home & Away, before he moved to the United States in 1997 to pursue a career in Hollywood films.
Until he hooked up with Moore, who is 12 years older than him, Henderson, aged 37, was best-known to Americans for his starring role in the ABC TV series Off the Map.
