Hollywood music star LL Cool J has broken the nose and jaw of a home intruder in what police described as a "knock-down, drag-out" fight.
The 'Mama Said Knock You Out' performer and NCIS: Los Angeles star was upstairs in his Los Angeles home when he heard an intruder, the Los Angeles Times reports.
When he went down to the kitchen, a man described by police as a transient ran at him, leading to the fight.
The Grammy Award winner was holding the intruder when police arrived at the home at 1am Wednesday morning, local time.
Detectives do not yet know the name of the intruder and are waiting to interview him at the hospital where he is being treated.
