Actor Chris Pine is facing charges for an alleged drink driving incident in Canterbury earlier this month.
The Hollywood star, who is in New Zealand shooting the movie Z for Zachariah, was reportedly stopped by police in Methven, Canturbury on March 1.
Fairfax Media reports the 33-year-old failed an evidential blood test and will appear in court on Monday charged with driving with excess blood alcohol.
Police have issued a statement about the allegation:
"A 33-year old American national was stopped during a routine drink-drive operation near Methven, Mid-Canterbury, early on Saturday morning, March 1.
"He has been charged with driving with excess blood alcohol and will appear in the Ashburton District Court on Monday 17 March.
"Given that the matter is now before the court police will not be releasing any further information."
