Nearly 50-year-old Tom Cruise would never get plastic surgery and has 'no idea' why he looks so young

Nose job? What nose job?

Tom Cruise insists he's au naturel in a revealing new interview with Playboy magazine.

The 49-year-old came clean about the cosmetic surgery rumours, saying "I haven't, and I never would."

Tom recently showed his ripped, potentially photoshopped physique on the cover of W magazine to promote his mostly shirtless role as an '80s rocker in the upcoming film musical, Rock of Ages. So how does he keep his body in such good shape as he pushes 50?

"I honestly have no idea. [laughs] I work. I'm always with family. I train, go without sleep. I just go hard," he told Playboy. "When I made [1981 military film] Taps, really my first film experience, I remember lying at night in the hotel room, thinking I love this so much. I'd wanted it since I was four, and there I was, thinking that if I did my best on Taps, maybe I could do this for the rest of my life.

"Turning 50, when I'm still doing this, is okay. On July 3 I'll be in Iceland, filming on my birthday. My family, my wife, they understand. It's who I am. I've spent many birthdays on a movie set, all great days."

Tom fans will be glad to know his various body parts even have their own Facebook pages. "Tom Cruise's Nose" has 36 fans, two pages devoted to his smile have a total of 68 likes, and his derriere notches up only six followers. Interestingly, "Tom Cruise's Inability to Handle the Truth", referring to his A Few Good Men scene with Jack Nicholson, eclipses them all with 176 likes.

The Mission Impossible mega-star also spoke of his love for wife Katie Holmes, the Oprah couch-jumping incident ("I never meant it that way"), and the fuss people make over his Scientology beliefs.
