John Mayer 'humiliated' by Taylor Swift's song about him, 'It was a lousy thing for her to do'

While promoting his new album Born And Raised, the singer said that Taylor's release of the song 'Dear John' after their break up last year was a "really lousy thing" for the 22-year-old singer to do.

"It made me feel terrible because I didn't deserve it," John told Rolling Stone.

"I'm pretty good at taking accountability now and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do."

As lousy as spilling intimate details about your dating and sex life with Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson (the latter he described as "sexual napalm")?

Here's some of the more "offending" lyrics in 'Dear John':

John also said Taylor never asked his permission to release a song about him.

"I never received an e-mail. I never got a phone call. I was really caught off-guard," he said.

"It really humiliated me at a time when I'd already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you’ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower?"

"I will say as a songwriter that I think it’s kind of cheap songwriting," John added. We’ll just assume then that he considers ‘Your Body Is A Wonderland’ to be high art.

"I know she's the biggest thing in the world, and I'm not trying to sink anybody's ship, but I think it's abusing your talent to rub your hand together and go, 'Wait till he gets a load of this!' That's bulls--t."

Guess that means he won’t be releasing a 'Dear Taylor' response, then.
