Meet Simba: The Cat who re-enacts iconic movie scenes

Simba the cat has become an internet star, after her owners decided to photograph her in re-enactments of famous movie scenes.

Siblings Haissam and Layla Yahya, from Lebanon, decided to arrange their one-year-old kitten into poses from scenes in Titanic The Shining, American Beauty and Psycho, for Layla’s high school art project.

Now that her glamour shots have hit the social news site Reddit, the unwilling model has become a bit of an internet sensation. But it seems fame came at a painful price for her snap-happy owners.

"They'll see and they'll know, and they'll say, "Why, she wouldn't even harm a fly...":Psycho (1960)

"I can assure you, she hated every second of it," Haissam wrote on Reddit. "I think we'll need a few weeks to recover from all the scratches that we've sustained."

An artist must suffer for his art.

Although the siblings are thinking of doing more feline film stills, the chances of landing Simba for the job will be slim.

"Will definitely come up with more, will need another cat though. This one knows not to trust us anymore,” Haissam wrote.
