Pixie Geldof releases new music clip

Bob Geldof's daughter Pixie Geldof, has released a film clip with her band Violet. The video for 'I Come Undone', a grainy hipstergram-like affair, was shot by the 21-year-old's favourite Vogue photographer Alasdair McLellan.

Violet, described by lead singer Pixie as a "dreamy grunge act with big melodic vocals", has a really distinctive British flavour, with grunge influence, indie guitars and understated but cutting vocals. The clip, which tells the story of a failed relationship, has a tender simplicity and the washed out colours and home-video style highlight the bitter nostalgia of the track.

"This song is very special to me," Pixie told Vogue magazine. "It's about a breakdown of a relationship that still has a lot of love within it and why it can be so hard to let some parts of you go along with that relationship."

Pixie, the youngest daughter of rock legend Bob Geldof, seems to have inherited her dad's musical talents, and Violet seem to be winning over many early sceptics of the rockstar’s daughter.

"She could so easily have come out protesting too much, a rich brat masquerading as a riot grrrl," said The Guardian's Paul Lester in a review of the band’s first A. side 'Y.O.U.'.

"Instead she starts off calmly and keeps things that way, cool as you like, with a hint of the torrid and a touch of gentle menace. What's that sound? That's our preconceptions being crushed, that is."
