Anne Hathaway's extreme Les Miserables diet consists of only 'hummus and radishes'

We recently saw Anne Hathaway's shocking physical transformation in the epic first Les Miserables trailer, and now the actress has spilled the beans (or should that be radishes?) on her hardcore diet to get the starving look of tragic heroine Fantine.

"I'm doing some crazy weight stuff right now," the 29-year-old actress told Allure magazine.

"I'm on day six of detox ... This diet makes me break out, so I love that. Nothing like living on hummus and radishes and then be all: 'And I got a pimple. Yeah!'"

Anne's diet is said to allow a meagre 500 calories a day, a quarter of the recommended 2000-calorie intake.

Dubbed "Anne Waste-Away" by the UK tabloids, the starlet's slim-down follows her rigorous training to play Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.

In August last year, Anne admitted she was "living on kale and dust" and "went into the gym for ten months and didn't come out" while trying to squeeze into the "unforgiving" catsuit. Masochistic, much?

While her frame may be fading away, Anne's career is gaining weight, with the hugely hyped release of the next Batman film next month, and Les Misérables on Boxing Day.
