Russell Brand: The Olympics will flop and the Queen will 'do a fart'

That rapscallion Russell Brand has had a cheeky go at the 2012 London Olympics and his country's beloved Queen.

Appearing on The Conan O'Brien Show in the US, the 37-year-old claimed English people are "too clumsy" to make the upcoming Games work smoothly.

"I think we are under a lot of pressure, because China were clearly able to demonstrate with the opening ceremony that, 'We can make all these people do the exact same thing at once — don't you dare get in a war with us'," he said.

Russell thinks London's opening ceremony, to be held July 27, will be an accident-prone affair.

"I love England and everything, I'm from there, but just something that involves organisation, it's going to be a right balls-up," he said. "Things are going to catch fire, people are going to trip over things, then it'll start raining, the Queen will do a fart."

Come on, not all of England is like Basil Fawlty, Russ.

But the Queen letting rip would surely do wonders for the royals' young-and-hip image?

Russell took another stab at the Queen, calling the Diamond Jubilee "a party to distract us from the fact we are being tyrannised".

"We will rise up. I say it is time for a bloody revolution," he added.

Russell's recent interviews have been colourful, to say the least. A fortnight ago, he blasted Graham Norton for asking about ex-wife Katy Perry, but was happy to tell Ellen a few weeks earlier he still loves Katy "as a human being" (see below).
