Charlize Theron finally shows off buzz cut for Mad Max: Fury Road

Charlize Theron finally shows off buzz cut for Mad Max: Fury Road

After coyly hiding her new buzz cut under a hat for a few weeks, Charlize Theron has gone out in the open with her newly shaved head for Mad Max: Fury Road.

Arriving in Namibia with her adopted son Jackson, the South African actress still looks stunning without her trademark blonde locks.

Charlize will play the role of Furiosa opposite the new Mad Max, Dark Knight Rises' Tom Hardy, in the fourth instalment of Australian director George Miller's post-apocalyptic action film series.

It's been a long road to get Fury Road up and running. Charlize apparently signed on for the role back in 2009, but the production has since been delayed by budget issues and a change in location from Broken Hill in New South Wales to Namibia in southern Africa.

The 36-year-old Oscar winner revealed her excitement about the role last month.

"I feel like the original Mad Max created such a vivid world, that to go back and reimagine it and kind of replay in that sandbox sounds like fun to me," she said.

"George really created a female character that I've never read anything like this. I mean, I'm scared s---less. I'm very excited about it; I'm f---ing dying! It's been three years; it's time to skin this cat already!"

Charlize will share the screen with another model-turned-actress in Transformers: Dark of the Moon's Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Rosie will play one of the "five wives" alongside Lenny's daughter Zoe Kravitz and The Runaways actress Riley Keough.

Another actress who recently buzzed off her locks is Anne Hathaway for Les Misérables. Check her out in the trailer below and tell us who rocks the bald look better — Charlize or Anne?
