Spice Girls to perform at Olympic closing ceremony?

The poshest Spice posted a photo of the bejewelled mic on Thursday, along with the cryptic caption: "Look what I found!! X vb."

There's been no official confirmation that the girls will reunite for the August 12 ceremony, but Victoria's tweet certainly suggests she's been in rehearsals.

Sunday Mirror columnist Dean 'Pipo' Piper (aka showbiz sleuth) added fuel to the fire, tweeting, "So the Spice Girls are all together rehearsing for the Olympics RIGHT NOW in London. #itsonbi----es."

The Daily Mail recently quoted sources confirming the girls would be performing, with Spice Girl Mel C saying she'd be disappointed if the group weren't invited to take part in the Olympic celebrations.

"I'd be really upset if the Spice Girls weren't included in the Olympics, whether it be the opening or closing ceremonies or any other playlists, because I think we absolutely represented Britain in the '90s," she said.

"We literally flew the flag — and Geri even wore it — around the globe."

The girls got together last month to promote their upcoming musical Viva Forever but a source told the UK Mirror that Posh and Mel B hated each other so much, the group would never perform together again.

With so much build-up, Olympic organisers would surely disappoint more than a few fans if the Girls weren't to perform.

And if (or when) they do, Geri sure as hell better squeeze herself into that latex Union Jack mini!
