Liberty Ross filing for divorce from cheating husband Rupert Sanders

Rupert Sanders' attempt to save his marriage has failed.

Liberty Ross reportedly wants a "clean break" from her husband following his affair with 22-year-old "Trampire" Kristen Stewart.

A source told The People the former model started divorce proceedings within a week of finding out about her hubby's cheating, contrary to earlier reports that she wanted to save their marriage.

"Liberty plans to mediate this out of court in a swift and efficient way, for the sake of her children," said the source.

"She just wants a clean break. She and Rupert have met with a mediator and are working things out in a civil manner. She's suffered enough."

Last week the 33-year-old was spotted heading to an office block that housed divorce lawyers sans wedding ring, while a hopeful Rupert continued to wear his.

If divorce isn't enough of a blow for the Snow White director, he could soon be waving his family goodbye.

Liberty reportedly wants to move with the kids back to her homeland, the UK.

"She only moved to the States to support Rupert and his career. She has no strong ties in the US, nor does she want to remain here," the source told The People.

"Given that the majority of her friends and family are in the UK nothing is holding her here and the kids are young enough to start a new school and not be affected.

The couple have two children — Skyla, seven, and Tennyson, five.
