In news that's sure to crush the illusions of many Spice Girls fans, Sporty Spice Mel C has revealed that the '90s British girl band haven't always been best friends. Nooooooooo ...

After recently reuniting with the girls for the London Olympics Closing Ceremony and the announcement of their upcoming stage musical, the 38-year-old opened up to the UK's Heat magazine about the fivesome's fiery relationships.

"It hardly ever got physical actually. Me and Melanie B used to get a bit pushy-shovey but we're talking years ago," she said.

"We've had some humdinger rows and some raised voices, but I don't think anything's ever been thrown — no injuries inflicted on each other — only mental scars!"

Care to elaborate, Sporty?

Well, in another recent interview, Mel confessed that she and Scary once had a drunken brawl.

"Me and Melanie had a fight once," she told Fabulous magazine.

"We were too drunk. We got a bit pushy, shovey, and Geri stepped in the middle to break it up and ended up getting punched in the face.

"Then Melanie went off to be sick, and because she'd been drinking too much port she accused me of making her bleed!"

In that interview, Mel revealed that Baby Spice Emma Bunton has remained her only close friend from the group over the years.

"Myself and Emma were the closest, and that's continued ... I don't think I'd want all the girls living around the corner, to be fair," she revealed.

Really, no playgroup with the Beckhams? You don't say!

Mel C is currently on the promo trail for her new album of Broadway musical covers, Stages.
