Airbrushed to the eyeballs: The real Sex And The City!

Almost everything you read has retouched images. Even bottles of wine in a wine catalogue have their reflections artificially 'tarted up' to make the shine 'perfect'. I work in a company that does a lot of retouching for 100s of glossy titles in London and everything from people to cars to computer screens are retouched. The scary thing is many tabloid magazines will retouch celebrities in very unflattering ways when its suits the editorial style of the article. Magazine editors will just as happily add cellulite as they will remove wrinkles. I would suggest to anyone who is concerned with the way that women are portrayed in the media to be a little more selective about where they spend their magazine dollar. Perhaps we could all spend a little less on Cosmo, Elle and Woman's Weekly and a little more on Time or New Scientist. Or perhaps poor body image is simply the price to be paid for indulging in tabloid voyeurism?

Im only 24,40s 50s sounds very far away for me,however if I looks the same as those women when I reach to theirs age I will be very happy. And I also belive that looking is not everthing, attitude and persoality are more important.

I wonder how it makes the actresses from SITC feel when the powers that be decree they need to be airbrushed? Apart from they get paid large amounts of money to be on this movie(that I am really looking forward to seeing) I am sure it is sad that they need to be altered to please the movie execs. Whatever age people are they shouldn't be made into the idealised perky 18yr old form, unless they are a perky 18 yr old. Atleast they got to make the movie in the present time, and didn't have to be 'youngered up' for the camera. Long live 'Sex in the city' as it has given me and my girlfriends so many laughs over the years, and *** the airbrushing tight 'butted' studio execs!

I am the same age as Kristin and she looks great as do the rest of the Sex in The City gang. These women look like women in their natural shots and like rediculous Barbie dolls in the airbrushed shots. What is WRONG with society women in their 40s 50s..........should look like women in their 40s, 50s etc. Not 20 year old dolls!!!!!!!! I get sick of society's obsession with young, anti ageing ***!!
