Before they were famous: Lady Gaga's no-so glam days

Even the perfectly-styled likes of Lady Gaga weren't always so perfect — in fact, pop's new blonde princess of cool started out her career as a brunette — who wore tacky stripper clothes!

Desperate to get attention in the New York club scene, the young singer, then known as Stefania Germanotta, donned super-skimpy outfits and sang her way to the top — before discovering the cute-and-quirky persona that would help make her a household name.

"When I started out, I was pretty funky, but not quite so mad," says Gaga, now 22.

"I'd be go-go dancing in front of 15 people who didn't know who I was but I'm a fearless person, although I shudder now when I look back at how naive I was."

These days, Gaga peddles a carefully-crafted pop image, even designing some of her own out-of-this-world outfits. "Fashion is everything to me," she said last week.

"It's just as important as the music. I don't want to exist to the British people as just one song.

"I want to be a true artist who affects their culture in the same way that I've affected American culture."

She has become extremely tiresome. I admire her fashion creativity, but her music is unsubtle (she has a tendency to bellow rather than sing) and utterly disposable IMHO.

Stfu, she has talent unlike you *** sitting there trying to scoop trash from Lady Ga Ga and failing on trying to launch your stupid *** at her. She's original, and one of a kind. Her songs are great and she's flawless in every way possible. So, she's not the most prettiest singer out there but she beats everyone by a long shot. She got herself famous in a snap. She's young and talented and she has more to offer us. So everyone who's *** are just itching and burning by the jealousy they have against lady gaga... Cry more.

Rather she had done anything else, is ridiculous. But the point should be that you say that she is an icon-- for what her body? What about the men and women of the past that rocked the world without rocking there bodies and give it away to cheap thrills and temptation. We can't change and impact the world in a positive way, if we can't see someone with self respect and self decency. She betrayed who she was for popularity and money. Just like many people. While I myself have faults, I would like to point out that while I am equal to her, that her infamous-ness should not be regarded as good, it should be studied and self examed. I look at myself and ask how and in what ways I can better put myself to use in a culture that needs more...

im not being rude or nothing but i like THE FAME MONSTER better than THR FAME she just sounds soo much bett in her 2nd one that her 1st but still i love her and haters *** YOU!!!!!

lady gaga iz very out-going she has very good style and she has a very good voice and haters....who in the hell thought she is addicted to drugs people who hate lady gaga should just keep it to they're self no one cares what you think!!

So it's true......... blondes really do have more fun. (Maybe I should dye my hair, lol.) But hey, she looked good with darker hair... so +1 for us brunettes~

leave her alone ppl atleast she's famous u ppl probably arn't good enough to become famous!!!! give her a break and stay out of her life she's worked long and hard to become how good she is now!!! yes i know she takes drugs, but she's trying to do as much as she can to stop doing that stuff. so get off her back ppl!!!!!!!!! just give her a couple years and she'll be bk to normal!

shes real cool. she's individual, and shes made a genuine effort to make it into the tough music industry. she has a real voice, unlike other modern artists. and i respect her greatly. cheers lady gaga. XD
