Is it the end for Flight of the Conchords?

, Prev Next Prepare to say goodbye to Flight of the Conchords: the future of the cult comedy will be decided in the next month, according to its creators. Jemaine Clement, one half of the comedy duo that created and stars in the series, told Reuters "it very likely might not" return for a second season, owing to the amount of work that goes into writing the songs and scripts for each episode. "We've got to write the series, but we've also got to write the songs, and just dividing your time into those two writing tasks is really tricky," he said.

But even if the Emmy Award-nominated series is grounded, fans shouldn't give up hope of seeing Clement and his co-star Bret McKenzie on screen again. "[Flight of the Conchords] could come back in a shorter season or like a special," Clement said. Representatives from HBO, the US pay TV network that produces the series, said that the future of Conchords is "entirely in [Clement and McKenzie's] hands".

i own the second season on DVD , the second season has screened in NZ, im quite frankly not the slightest bit worried that there may not be a second season of the show as i happily live in a parallel universe where it has already been made.....
I'm not crying.....
As much as I love your shows, your talent (and Rhys too - I have the badge). Why not finish in demand, then your future one-off shows will be all the more precious. Thus allowing you to spend more time writing music and script.
I absolutely adore FOTC and found their first series side splitting. Loved it loved it. The 2nd series however, I didnt think was as good. The show format, the script and such is so unique that I fear it could be overdone. To stop before a 3rd series I think is a sensible option. Then work on something else...
It would be quite a shame if Flight of the Conchords were to finish up, I've followed all the seasons and episodes closely. It must be very stressful to have to do all that script and songwriting for each show. I commend them for all the effort they have put in to make a great show and they have made us kiwis proud!
"ive got hurt feelings"
they will return for a third season! A good show isnt a proper show with only two seasons, no matter how hard it is! I dont care how long it takes for new ideas to come up, I want more FotC
" it very likely might not" return for a second season, " There already is a second season, does it mean third?
