Tom Cruise 'offered to beat up Scientologists'

Tom Cruise once offered to personally beat up disobedient Scientologists, according to claims from a former high ranking member of the church.

The Hollywood superstar allegedly said he would "beat the living (expletive)" out of church members who fell out of line, former Scientologist Marty Rathbun wrote in a letter to Cruise's lawyer, according to US media.

Mr Rathbun said that on the day before Cruise's arrival at a church-owned compound staff took part in a preparation drill which required "orchestrating every action they perform … in the presence of Cruise".

When three managers were disobedient church leader David Miscavige ordered several others to beat confessions from them, Mr Rathbun claimed.

When the others were reluctant Mr Miscavige reportedly said Cruise had offered to do it himself.

But church spokesman Tommy Davis told the New York Daily News that Mr Rathbun was an "admitted liar" and that he was fired from his high ranking role for assaulting other members.

Mr Davis said the three alleged assault victims had signed affadavits saying they had never been attacked.

What a joke. It has to be lies. Has anyone seen the size of Tom Cruise, the average 3 year old could crush him. There is always the possibility that the aliens have armed him with secret weapons of course.

how whack is that? what a bizarre thing to come out with about Tom Cruise, just crazy, he's pretty intense as intense people are, but this latest revelation just makes me wish old Hubbard had stayed in the cupboard. anyhoo, never mind that don't you think destiny and scientology are kindred foloowers of the cult of personality? Are Tom Cruise and Brian Tamaki related?

If the person who spread it is a known liar, why the hell did you just waste my time with writing this article?

Tom Cruise thinks that he is the man. Who the hell is he to go around beating people because some of the members in his church were disobiedient. Reality check Tom!! We have rules for that. Regardless of whether you are famous you should still be charged. And hello everyone has a choice. God did made the round windy. Its not actually straight if you know what I mean. Yes people are going to eventually side step but it is up to the rest of us to get them back on track but not the way your wanting to do it. Get with it TOM. That could be your child that you are beating up. SAD to think that these favourite characters of ours are actually quite MEAN! Tania
