Who is Lady Gaga's influence?

, Prev Next Now we know who to blame for Lady GaGa: the pop tart told MTV host Alexa Chung that David Bowie is a major influence on her, um, unusual image.

"I used to sit in my apartment for hours and do his make-up on myself over and over again," GaGa revealed.

This revelation shouldn't surprise anyone who's familiar with Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" years, when he gallivanted around in strange costumes and bizarre hairstyles saying weird and unusual things — much like Lady GaGa.

Let's have a look at some of the myriad ways Ziggy has inspired the Lady:

Really Lady Gaga don't lose anymore weight. You were fine before Video Phone. (Beyonce feat. Lady Gaga - Video Phone)
Lol, luv ya Sophia, good spotting. Fashion! Turn to the left, fashion turn to the right oooh fashion. We are the *** squad and we're coming to town beep beep. i wish you hadn't put her next to Bowie, she doesn't come off as avant garde, artistic next to his theatrical mightiness. I think she's a woman who takes risks and is actually having a good laugh at the rest of us for taking her whack sense so seriously. Kylie, madonna, britney, rhianna, all these ladies have one thing in common. Flashing their ladybits because sex does sell, it's no fashion makeover they undertake. Lady Gaga is different again to that, she deliberately dresses NOT to turn men on, by alluding to s and m or kinky sex. That's clever and shows a great sense of self and humour. But borrowing form Bowie, nah, his costumes and make up allude to artists whose work he admired. Very intellectual and you get the whole package, the general masses don't get that these days, they're just out of kindergarten lol.
is Lady gaga holding a toilet brush in the last photo? lol
When I signed into msn it came up with the 'today' thing as usual.. but the headline says "Who's fashion is Lady Gaga's influenced by?" It should say "Whose fashion..." Not "Who's fashion..." .. Just pointing that out. Sophia.
