Rihanna has finally spoken out against rumours that an STD was the reason for the horrific beating she copped from ex-boyfriend Chris Brown earlier this year.

A blemish on the singer's lip sparked claims that she has herpes and had passed the virus on to Chris. But Rihanna says, "It's not true."

"It's a f**king scar. On my lip. That's there every day of my lilfe." she tells GQ Magazine.

The 21-year-old says anyone who believes the rumours is "ignorant".

"They just don't understand me. I just think people straight up don't know who I am. They just know what I look like, they know the idea of me.

But all that is about to change with the release of her new album, says Rihanna. "They'll learn more this time, because now I let my guard down and I'm more comfortable just being myself."
