Bethenny Frankel, who stars in the Real Housewives of New York City, posed naked for an advertisement for animal rights group PETA's anti fur campaign.

The billboard photo of the 39-year-old, unveiled last week, instantly attracted suggestions it was heavily photoshopped.

"Can anyone find Bethanny (sic) Frankel in this photo? It looks nothing like her," one fan wrote on the People magazine website.

Taking aim at her critics, Frankel has supplied Us Magazine with the original untouched image claiming it shows her image was not heavily altered.

"Everything I'm about is being honest and being upfront," Frankel was quoted by UsMagazine.com as saying.

"So if people are talking and saying [the photo] was airbrushed ... then, you know what? Here's the picture. Have it your way."

But the untouched photo reveals a significant amount of airbrushing did take place.

The biggest difference in the two photos is Frankel's skin tone which appears to have been evened out to create a softer, more glowing look.

The shape of her thighs may have also been altered slightly and her left breast was removed from the shot.

Imperfections from Frankel's face also appear to have been photoshopped out and her hair made to look shinier.

Frankel said she would "never, ever allow PETA to put up a billboard [of her] that was really far from the truth."

fact is why are people moaning about people who get their kit off and the resultant airbrushing? When are moaners going to have a go at the groups like PETA who pay for these campaigns about animal rights in the first instance? Doesn't anyone note the irony of PETA a group who is anti fur and the fact that nearly everyshot they use is photoshopped, regardless of whether the model is famous or no? If PETA support that women in their own skin is soo ugly they need airbrushing, then it's hard to take PETA seriously that they are anti fur. Cute claim from behtany saying she would never allow PETA to use something that wasn't true, how gullible does she believe people are? USA land of awesome publicity for dumb dumbs graduates of 'reality' tv lol.
Airbrushing and Photo shop is a lie and should be banned, it's fake and misleading and creates a superficial acceptance.
