Kristen and Dakota's lesbian kiss was "no big deal"

Dakota Fanning is so cool, calm and collected. And Kristen Stewart... well, she's 'cool', anyway.

The pair teamed up for a steamy lesbian kiss in the new movie The Runaways, and while some might think a teenage gay pash scene is pretty major stuff, Dakota says it was no biggie. (Let's remember, the girl's been getting chased by aliens and working with the likes of Sean Penn since she was five.)

"It wasn't that big of a deal," says 15-year-old Dakota. "It's just another part of the story. This kiss was passionate — Joan [Jett] and Cherie [Currie] were just as close as two could get."

But what was a big deal was that the girls got to keep their wardrobes when filming wrapped.

"I kept most of my wardrobe because it is so cool," says Dakota. "I know Kristen took some items too, like dog and cat collars. I'm not sure when she plans to wear them but she'll be rocking quite a look when she does."

Gay kisses aren't a big deal? Tell us something new. It's just two people kissing, why are we still making a big deal out of it. This is the 21st century, people.

I fail to see why the kiss between to girls in the film would be a big deal to begin with, it's no different to if one of them were to kiss a guy they arren't attracted to over the course of filming, why this needed it's on article I don't know. People these days are meant to be open minded about same-sex relationships but the fact that the "No big deal" aspect of this kiss got an article means people still aren't as open minded as we'd like to think.
