Perez Hilton wants Simon Cowell's spot on Amerinca Idol

Perez Hilton is already pretty good at judging celebrities. Now he wants to try judging aspiring singers.

The gossip blogger has offered to become an American Idol judge when Simon Cowell vacates the panel at the end of the current eighth season — or failing that, he wants to be a judge on Cowell's new talent show The X Factor.

"I think that Simon Cowell leaving American Idol is amazing, because those are two potential jobs that I may have in the future," Perez told MTV. "I'd be a great judge."

"Basically, I'm shamelessly looking for work. I'm available. And I'm cheap!" added the notorious fameseeker.

But there are several candidates ahead of Perez: according to the New York Post's gossip column Page Six, American Idol producers want to sign notorious radio DJ Howard Stern to the show.

Another potential judge is Tommy Mottola, the former Sony Music boss and Mariah Carey's husband. But MTV reports that Cowell is also trying to net Mottola for X Factor, which will premiere in the US in 2011.

I would shoot myself before I would ever condone this jacka-- (whom, I may add, bears a striking resemblance to Dokey Kong) ever, EVER taking Simon Cowell's place. I have had my ups and downs with him, but I love the guy. On the other hand, most likely the only reason he says this Perez would be good on the show is because he is famous for being infamous in a sense (though he's much more infamous than Simon), is known for insults and sarcasm, quite like himself, and will add a fair amount of controversy to the show. Otherwise, this is the stupidest choice. No one likes freaking *** Perez. Bad idea. Bad.

i pray the producers of Idol dont even ponder hiring this tool. his "profession" is blogging his mindless spin on celebrity gossip. i reeaally doubt he has any musical knowledge, hes just plain scary if you ask me.

There is no way this man should be considered for American Idol. That would be a huge mistake. He is a blogger and has no significant experience in music. He need to stop this and the John Mayer business before he gets anymore of a backlash from people.
