Is the Duchess of Cambridge the clumsiest royal ever? Not quite, but it certainly looks like it, given the scar on her head!

Stunner Kate Middleton attracted press for all the wrong reasons at her first solo royal do yesterday. With her hair in a half-up, half-down do, the Duchess revealed a pretty big scar on the left side of her head.

Ouch!

A spokesman for the Duchess revealed that Kate's scar is the result of surgery when she was a kid, but of course, wouldn't give any gruesome deets.

'Kate dear, how is that scar of yours coming along?

The Daily Mail reports senior royal sources as saying it was 'a very serious operation.'…

…which may or may not be true, given he Mail also spoke to a surgeon, John Scurr, from a London hospital, who put to rest ridiculous rumours that Kate had some hectic brain tumour removed when she was a little girl.

"I really doubt it was any serious medical condition and I would say it is as a result of an arteriovenous malformation — a birthmark — being removed," he revealed.

While we're totally shocked that the Duchess has a pretty obvious scar on her head and no one's noticed up until now, there's also cute side to this story. Her husband, Prince William, also has one! Wills' 'Harry Potter scar' (yep, he calls it that himself) is the result of being hit by a gold club when he was 13.

Herein begins the Royal Scar Club.

Kate and Wills: the clumsiest royals?
