Evicted! Courtney Love destroys $8m NY home

The veteran rocker moved into the $8million four-storey terrace only 10 months ago, but the property's owner wants her out immediately, claiming the 'Hole' singer owes $55,000 in unpaid rent and has caused $100,000 worth of damage - including setting fire to the curtains!

"Courtney has wallpapered and painted a large portion of the property without my consent," Donna Lyon tells the New York Post of the 46-year-old's attempts to redecorate the historical home.

"The walls that had been hand painted and glazed were ruined, covered in damask wallpaper and ice blue paint."

Lyon also recalls an incident in June when her unruly tenant scorched her hands after a candle set a curtain alight.

"I got a call from her accountant who said, 'Miss Love is fine,' which I was glad to hear, but I thought 'What about the house?'."

Courtney has been issued with an eviction notice and will appear in court next week over the issue of the unpaid rent.

Meanwhile, Lyon's lawyer has described Courtney's redecoration attempts as "tantamount to destroying a work for art".

We feel sorry for the woman who owns the house, we really do… but seriously, what did she expect? She rented her house to Courtney Love!
