Ellen DeGeneres slammed by family group after named 'openly gay' department store spokesperson
OneMillionMoms.com has instructed its supporters to petition against Ellen DeGeneres, after the openly gay TV show host was named the new spokesmodel for JC Penny department store.

The 'family values' group is demanding Ellen be replaced by someone who's not gay, claiming shoppers will be put off by her untraditional image.

A statement on the site reads: "Funny that JC Penny thinks hiring an open homosexual person will help their business when most of their customers are traditional families.

"DeGeneres is not a true representation of the type of families that shop at their store. The majority of JC Penny shoppers will be offended and choose to no longer shop there."

But Ellen's got a heap of support on her side (of course!).

GLAAD — Gay and Lesbain Alliance Against Defamation — is accusing 'hate groups' of starting 'culture wars,' and in an email to RadarOnline, say: "…it's clear that a vast majority of Americans today support Ellen… (it) is noy only a smart business practice but a reflection of how LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bi-sexual Transexual) Americans today are an integral and valued part of the fabric of our culture."

Couldn't have said it better ourselves (Go Ellen, Go Ellen).
