Dumb joke: Restaurant sorry for Rihanna/Chris Brown-mocking 'Black & Bleu' sandwich

A Georgia restaurant has apologised for selling a 'Black & Bleu' sandwich, which made a sick joke of Rihanna 's battered face after Chris Brown assaulted her in 2009.

The Chops and Hops steakhouse advertised a pic of the steak and blue cheese sandwich on their Twitter page, saying: "@chrisbrown, @rihanna and us teamed up for an award winning celebrity sandwich. Chris Brown won't beat you up for eating this unless your name starts with R and ends with A."

Not surprisingly, diners at the steakhouse were totally disgusted.

“Cannot believe you find this appropriate,” wrote customer Nancy Downend Ferguson on the steakhouse's Facebook page. “Was a loyal customer. Will never come back.”

The steakhouse promptly posted a public apology, removed the inappropriate menu item, and pledged to give all proceeds they had made from the sandwich to a domestic violence support group.

"The owners of C & H would like to make sure everyone knows that we and our staff do not support domestic violence," wrote a rep on the restaurant's Facebook page.

"The sandwich was a feature for the day. Yesterday only. It is not on the menu nor will it ever be."

Some 'feature' that was.
