Totally weird: Alicia Silverstone feeds her kid by swapping spitting

The actress has posted a video called "Bear Eating My Mouth", which shows her chewing a mouthful of food before spitting it into 10-month-old Bear Blu's gobbler, and says it's fast becoming the his "favourite" way to eat.

"I just had a delicious breakfast of miso soup, collards and radish steamed and drizzled with flax oil, cast iron mocha with nori wrapped ouside, and some grated daikon. Yum!" she wrote in a blog post accompanying the vid.

"I fed Bear the mocha and tiny bit of vegies from the soup … from my mouth to his.

"It's his favourite … and mine," she wrote.

It's great that Alicia is an animal-loving vegan, but has she taken a bit too much inspiration from the animal kingdom for this strange feeding frenzy? Adult birds chew, partly digest and then regurgitate food for their young.

Fox News asked medical and nutritional experts for their opinion on the feeding method, with one doctor responding: "It doesn't seem like a hygienic practice."

But it doesn't seem like Bear plans on giving up his mumma bird's soggy seconds anytime soon.

"He literally crawls across the room to attack my mouth if I'm eating," Alicia blogged.
